Velvet

Velvet has spanned the ages and is still thought to be one of the finest fabrics in the world. Noted for its elegance, charm and durability, velvet lends a distinctive character to any interior. The secret of its
intriguing nature is revealed by the play of

light on its three-dimensional structure, giving way to shades and nuances unique to velvet. Its sensuality and softness are legendary. Schellens specializes in solid and
patterned velvet woven with natural yarns, including mohair, wool and silk. Whatever

weaving or finishing method is applied, velvet is always stunning.

Epinglé

Epinglé is a French term meaning ?pin.? It is a fine, lustrous corded fabric with ribs running either warpwise or filling wise. The structure can be open or closed, hard or soft, firm or supple, coarse or smooth, symmetric or asymmetric, or a

combination of any of these and many other qualities. Epinglé lends itself to seemingly endless design possibilities. Using special yarns in weft and warp, in combination with cross-dyeing, the most exciting contemporary fabrics can be

created. Schellens continues to discover new ways of applying this versatile weaving technique.
